If you value what we do, please support our work with <\/span><\/i><i><span>a donation<\/span><\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/smartmovinghome.com\/?p=1639\">Prairieland Protester: I\u2019m Absolutely Being Imprisoned for a Political Agenda<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A court filing Tuesday morning in the federal case against 15 anti-ICE protesters contained more than 200 pages of undercover agents\u2019 notes and photos from the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s widespread surveillance operation during Operation Metro Surge. <\/p>\n<p>The documents reveal new information about groups and events targeted by the agents \u2014 and contain dozens of photos of cars of people who trailed immigration agents in their cars.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibits were submitted to the court by attorney Kevin Riach, who is defending Isaac Sant, one of the 15 Minnesotans charged with conspiracy to assault or impede federal agents. All 15 pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n<p>The documents further underscore the feds\u2019 use of intelligence tactics \u2014 including the use of undercover agents and electronic surveillance \u2014 as a frustrated Trump administration sought to tamp down the widespread resistance to the immigration crackdown, which wound up ensnaring many legal residents and led to the killings of two Americans. <\/p>\n<p>Riach previously submitted another batch of undercover agents\u2019 reports and other surveillance-related documents \u2014 including administrative subpoenas for unions\u2019 financial records \u2014 in a motion requesting that the judge order DHS to release even more information on the surveillance campaign. <\/p>\n<p>A hearing on that motion is scheduled for Thursday. (The federal government asked U.S. District Judge David Schultz to postpone the hearing until next week, citing staffing shortages. Schultz denied that request on Monday.)<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/smartmovinghome.com\/?p=1637\">40 Democrats Demand Israel Free Sami Safi, US Citizen Detained Without Charges<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new documents describe the efforts agents undertook to identify the individuals behind the websites defend612.com and melttheicemn.com, the website for an event in February that convened hundreds of activists from around the country to learn from members about the Minnesota anti-ICE movement. Agents subpoenaed the websites\u2019 registrars and payment processors to confirm the identities of the website creators. <\/p>\n<p>Agents also used a \u201cchat capturing software\u201d to record the contents of Signal group chats, according to an undercover agents\u2019 report, though the software isn\u2019t named.<\/p>\n<p>The new documents also contain dozens of photos of cars with redacted license plate numbers, presumably of cars that followed ICE \u2014 known as \u201cpatrollers\u201d \u2014 and attendees at meetings of anti-ICE organizations.
